'Encyclopedia Of Swedish Hard Rock And Heavy Metal Vol. 3' On The Way

May 16, 2008

Having just finished doing the layout and additional research for an encyclopedia of Swedish punk written by Peter Jandreus, Swedish musician/author Janne Stark (LOCOMOTIVE BREATH, OVERDRIVE, SALT) has commenced work on the third "Encyclopedia of Swedish Hard Rock And Heavy Metal" for Premium Publishing. "Vol. 1" was released in 1996 and the follow-up came out in 2002.

"This will be the mother of all, containing all the information from the long sold out 'Vol. 1' and 'Vol. 2', updated and completed, plus all the bands Ive missed out (yes, there's still some of those) and all bands new since the second book in 2002," Stark says. "A quick estimation says it will be around 2000 bands! The criteria for entry is that the band has made some type of release, even self-financed, but not CD-R, and that they fall within the wide range of hard rock and metal (from AOR to death metal)."

The book will tentatively be completed by the middle of next year and each band will, like before, be featured with a biography, members, home town, a detailed discography with all various releases and pressings, photos and all available covers depicted. Janne, of course, wants all labels and bands to get in touch and send info and material. Check www.starkmusic.net for contact details.
